JBLM Education Fair supports service members’ goals

JBLM Education Fair supports service members’ goals

About 80 people came out to the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Education Fair, an event that brought together roughly 40 universities and a number of supporting organizations. The fair was designed to give service members a clear look at their options for furthering their education while on active duty.

Representatives from the schools and support groups offered information on a wide range of topics. These included continuing education programs, pathways to commissioning, and help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Attendees also learned about the benefits available to them, such as the U.S. Army Tuition Assistance Program.

For many service members, figuring out how to balance military duties with school can be a challenge. Events like this one aim to simplify the process by putting all the resources in one place. Soldiers and their families could walk from table to table, ask questions directly, and pick up materials to review later.

Organizers noted that the turnout showed a strong interest in education within the JBLM community. Whether someone is looking to start a degree, finish one, or explore a new career path after service, the fair provided a solid starting point. The goal was to connect people with the tools and information they need to make informed decisions about their future.
