Pell City School Board Appoints New Athletics Director, Head Coach, and Principal

The Pell City Board of Education convened on April 16 to approve a substantial slate of personnel changes, officially naming a new district athletics director, a new boys’ basketball coach, and a new principal for the upcoming academic year. The moves come as part of a broader restructuring aimed at strengthening leadership across the school system.

The newly appointed athletics director brings a wealth of experience in sports administration and a long history of working with student-athletes in the region. Board members expressed confidence that the hire will enhance the district’s athletic programs, focusing on both competitive excellence and character development. The director will oversee all high school and middle school sports, coordinate coaching staff, and manage facilities and scheduling.

In addition, the board approved a new head coach for the boys’ basketball program. The coach, who has previously led successful teams at other schools, is expected to revitalize the program and build a culture of discipline and teamwork. Officials noted that the coach’s track record of mentoring young men both on and off the court was a key factor in the selection.

The board also named a new principal for one of the district’s elementary schools. The administrator has served in various educational roles within the county and is known for a collaborative leadership style and a strong commitment to academic improvement. The principal will take over at the start of the next school year.

All appointments are effective immediately following the board’s vote.
