Education Secretary Linda McMahon made a spirited defense of her tenure and goals during a recent media appearance, attributing much of the criticism against her and the administration to what she termed "Trump Derangement Syndrome." The former WWE executive argued that partisan opposition has clouded substantive debate on key educational issues.
During the wide-ranging discussion, McMahon outlined her primary focus on promoting vocational and technical training, emphasizing the need for skilled workers in the modern economy. She also addressed the perennial debate over politics in the classroom, advocating for a curriculum centered on core skills and civic education while minimizing partisan influence.
McMahon stressed her commitment to expanding school choice options for families, framing it as a matter of fundamental opportunity. She expressed a desire to move beyond Washington politics to directly support teachers and students, though she acknowledged that her association with the current administration continues to draw intense scrutiny. The Secretary concluded by reiterating her belief that educational progress should transcend political divisions.
