Cornerstone University has launched a pioneering general education program designed to deeply integrate Christian faith with academic study and civic engagement. The new initiative, named The Cornerstone Core™, represents a significant overhaul of the university's required courses for all undergraduate students.
This groundbreaking curriculum is built on the foundational principle of uniting a robust Christian worldview with a comprehensive understanding of American history and the principles of civic responsibility. University leadership states the core is intentionally structured to equip students not just for careers, but for thoughtful citizenship and purposeful lives rooted in biblical truth.
The program moves beyond traditional distribution requirements, creating a cohesive and sequenced learning journey. Courses will intentionally connect theological concepts with historical analysis and contemporary societal challenges. The aim is to foster graduates who can critically engage with culture, contribute meaningfully to their communities, and understand the nation's historical context from a distinctively Christian perspective.
Faculty from across disciplines have collaborated to develop this integrated approach, which will become the centerpiece of the Cornerstone undergraduate experience. The university believes The Cornerstone Core™ will set a new standard for Christ-centered liberal arts education, preparing a new generation of leaders to navigate an increasingly complex world with wisdom, conviction, and a heart for service.
