The American Political Science Association is inviting educators and scholars to help define the future of civic learning as the nation approaches its semiquincentennial. A new call for proposals seeks approximately 15 to 20 political science professionals to participate in a pivotal three-day symposium focused on pedagogy and research in civic education.
The intensive gathering is scheduled for June 25–27 at APSA's headquarters in Washington, D.C. Participants will engage in collaborative discussions and workshops aimed at developing innovative teaching strategies and scholarly frameworks. The goal is to produce actionable insights and resources that will enrich public understanding and civic engagement surrounding the historic 250th anniversary of the United States.
This symposium represents a significant opportunity for scholars to directly influence how the discipline connects with this national milestone. Selected participants will contribute to a collective effort aimed at strengthening democratic education for a new generation. The deadline for proposal submissions is April 5, 2026.
